Dean Stoneman opent Formule 2-seizoen als snelste op Silverstone

Dean Stoneman heeft tijdens de eerste vrije training van het tweede Formule 2-seizoen de snelste tijd gereden. Jack Clarke volgde op nog minder dan een tiende, terwijl Kelvin Snoeks de vijftiende tijd reed.

Stoneman reed een 1:37.932 en was daarmee de enige coureur die onder de 1:38-grens kwam. De Brit was slechts negen honderdsten sneller dan zijn landgenoot Jack Clarke. Philipp Eng reed de derde tijd en moest daarmee al bijna een halve seconde toegeven op de tijd van Stoneman.

Kelvin Snoeks is dit seizoen de enige Nederlander die in de Formule 2 rijdt. De Nederlander kwam in zijn allereerste vrije training in de Formule 2 tot een vijftiende tijd. Snoeks gaf anderhalve seconde toe op Stoneman.
