Philipp Eng op pole voor tweede race, Snoeks zeventiende

Philipp Eng heeft zojuist de pole position voor de tweede race van de Formule 2 op Silverstone veroverd. De Oostenrijker reed in de tweede kwalificatie een 1:36.992 en was daarmee twee honderdsten sneller dan polesitter voor de eerste race Jolyon Palmer.

Eng ging meteen bij het groene licht naar buiten en bleef daarna lang binnen staan. Pas tegen het einde van de sessie kwam de Oostenrijker weer naar buiten en maakte daarna optimaal gebruik van zijn powerboosts. Eng was uiteindelijk slecht 0.020 seconden sneller dan de Brit Jolyon Palmer.

Dean Stoneman is het hele weekend al sterk bezig en reed de derde tijd, gevolgd door Jack Clarke en de Deen Johan Jokinen. De Belg Benjamin Bailly reed op 1,4 seconden achterstand de vijftiende tijd. Kelvin Snoeks was op de zeventiende startplaats 1,7 seconden langzamer dan Eng.
