Kelvin Snoeks erg blij met eerste podiumplaats in Formule 2

Kelvin Snoeks heeft een droomweekend achter de rug op het Marokkaanse circuit Marrakech. In pas zijn tweede Formule 2-weekend ooit pakte de Nederlander in de eerste race meteen zijn eerste podiumplaats. Na afloop was Snoeks natuurlijk erg tevreden hierover.

Snoeks kwalificeerde zich als negende voor de eerste race, maar de Nederlander reed slim om alle crashes heen en scoorde een derde plaats. Hiermee stond hij voor het eerst in lange tijd weer op het podium van een grote, aansprekende klasse. Tijdens de tweede race moest Snoeks uit de pitstraat starten, maar behaalde alsnog een keurige negende stek.

"Dit was echt een droomweekend voor me", zei Snoeks. "Ik heb de hele winter erg hard gewerkt om mezelf in allerlei opzichten te verbeteren en dit resultaat is hier een regelrechte beloning voor. Ik ben erg trots op de twee races die ik heb neergezet. Mijn aanvallende aanpak heeft zich hier echt bewezen. Ik kan bijna niet wachten op de volgende races, over drie weken op Monza."
