Dean Stoneman bestraft en blijft alsnog tweede in kampioenschap

Dean Stoneman is na afloop van de tweede Formule 2-race op Brands Hatch bestraft door de racestewards. De Brit toucheerde met titelrivaal Jolyon Palmer, waardoor de leider in het kampioenschap uitviel. Stoneman eindigde als derde, maar heeft twintig seconden straf gekregen.

Hierdoor valt Stoneman terug van de derde naar de dertiende plaats, wat hem geen punten oplevert. Hierdoor kan hij de leidende positie in het kampioenschap, die hij van Palmer overnam na de tweede race, alweer inleveren. Palmer leidt het kampioenschap nu met 186 punten, vijf punten voor Stoneman.
