Fukuzumi dit jaar in F2, Matsushita terug naar Japan

Honda schuift Nirei Fukuzumi door van de GP3 naar de Formule 2, zo heeft de Japanse autofabrikant in de plannen voor het komende jaar bekendgemaakt. Fukuzumi krijgt het druk, want de 20-jarige Japanner gaat het racen voor Arden in de Formule 2 combineren met rijden in de Super Formula.

Voor Nobuharu Matsushita komt er voorlopig een einde aan zijn verblijf in Europa. Na drie seizoenen in het voorportaal van de Formule 1 vindt Honda het wel mooi geweest en haalt hem terug naar Japan. Matsushita zal in 2018 samen met Fukuzumi in de Super Formula te bewonderen zijn.

Fukuzimi was de voorbije twee jaar voor ART Grand Prix actief in de GP3. In zijn eerste seizoen scoorde hij 91 punten op weg naar de zevende plek in het kampioenschap. Vorig jaar won hij twee races en verzamelde hij 134 punten, goed voor een derde positie in de eindstand.
