Bent Viscaal debuteert in F2-bolide en hoopt op zitje voor 2021

Het zinderende Formule 2-seizoen is pasgeleden tot een einde gekomen. Tijd om bij te komen, was er niet. Gisteren stond er een post-season test op het programma in Bahrein. Bent Viscaal kwam ook in actie, uitkomend voor het Italiaanse team van Trident Racing. De 21-jarige mocht voor het eerst in een Formule 2-bolide instappen en werd uiteindelijk zestiende met een tijd van 1.43.478. De snelste van de dag was Louis Delétraz en klokte een 1.41.872 op het bord.

Volgend jaar hoopt Bent Viscaal aan de start te staan van het nieuwe Formule 2-seizoen, maar concrete plannen liggen nog niet op tafel . ''Wat ik in 2021 precies ga doen is op dit moment nog niet duidelijk, maar ik richt mijn pijlen op een zitje in een van de opleidingsklassen die in het voorprogramma van de Formule 1 vormen. Ik hoop zo snel mogelijk meer te vertellen over de toekomstplannen”, besluit Viscaal strijdvaardig. Hiermee sluit de Nederlander een derde jaar in de Formule 3 niet uit.

Het jonge talent uit Albergen was afgelopen seizoen actief in de Formule 3. Zijn grootste succes behaalde de coureur in Silverstone tijdens de 70th Anniversary Grand Prix. In de sprintrace pakte Bent Viscaal op een legendarische wijze de zege door in de allerlaatste bocht in de allerlaatste ronde zijn opponent het nakijken te geven.

Bent Viscaal (18-09-1999) is racewinnaar in de Formule 3, de MRF Challenge, de Euroformula Open, het Spaanse Formule 4-kampioenschap en het SMP Formule 4-kampioenschap uit Rusland. Viscaal werd tweede in de eindrangschikking van het Spaanse Formule 4-kampioenschap en het SMP Formule 4-kampioenschap in Rusland (beiden 2017) en herhaalde dat in de Euroformula Open en het Spaanse Formule 3-kampioenschap (beiden 2018).

Na de naam grappen nog even serieus ;) Viscaal liet een paar leuke dingen zien in de F3, vooral in Hongarije en Silverstone. Maar hij zal serieus geld mee moeten nemen voor een F2 zitje. Trident is een subtopper in de F3 maar de laatste jaren in de F2 was het vooral een tobteam

  Inderdaad, weet niet of je met Trident nou zo blij moet zijn. Zou ik eerder proberen om bij MP Motorsport F2 te gaan rijden. De topteams zullen alle zitjes wel al vergeven hebben?

Hoop dat ie in F2 komt. Wellicht bij MP motorsport. Drugovich is naar UNI Virtuosi dus wie weet.

Leuk dat DRU volgend jaar weer actief is in de F2 en dat Piastri ook al confirmed is. Al twee leuke piloten om te volgen.
