Piastri met pole op weg naar titel

PREMA-coureur Oscar Piastri heeft tijdens de kwalificatie van het laatste F2-weekend in Abu Dhabi de poleposition gepakt en start daardoor zondag vooraan bij de hoofdrace. Voor de sprintrace start de Alpine-junior als tiende vanwege de reverse grid.

Met het behalen van poleposition pakt Piastri vier punten is de titel zo goed als zeker. Zijn voorsprong bedraagt 55.5 punten op teamgenoot Robert Shwartzman. Met nog twee sprintraces (2x 15 punten plus punt snelste ronde) en een hoofdrace (1x 25 punten plus punt snelste ronde) voor de boeg zijn er maximaal nog 57 punten te verdienen.

Richard Verschoor, die invalt voor Enzo Fittipaldi bij het team Charouz Racing System, start als zestiende. De andere Nederlander, Bent Viscaal, staat vlak naast hem op P17.

De eerste sprintrace is zaterdagochtend 09.20 Nederlandse tijd en gratis te volgen op het open kanaal van Ziggo.

Piastri is super goed. Gewoon een rookie die hem direct pakt... dat hoort direct in F1. Maar helaas.
