Formule 2 vindt wél vervanger voor Russische Grand Prix

Gisteren maakte de Formule 1 bekend dat er definitief geen vervangende Grand Prix komt voor de geschrapte Russische Grand Prix. De race op het circuit van Sotsji werd van de kalender verwijderd na aanleiding van de oorlog in Oekraïne. Geruime tijd was men opzoek naar een vervangend event maar die zoektocht kwam op niets uit.

Het uitblijven van een vervanger zadelde de Formule 2 ook op met een probleem. De hoogste opstapklasse zou namelijk ook in actie komen in Sotsji. De Formule 2 heeft echter snel gehandeld en men heeft hier wel een vervanger gevonden. Er is namelijk besloten dat de Formule 2 in actie zal komen tijdens het weekend van de Franse Grand Prix op het circuit van Paul Ricard.
