Ramon Pineiro verslaat Bortolotti in tweede race Brands Hatch

Ramon Pineiro heeft vanmiddag gemakkelijk de overwinning veiliggesteld in de tweede race op Brands Hatch. De Spanjaard kwam goed weg bij de start, nam meteen de koppositie over en gaf deze nooit meer af. Kampioenschapsleider Mirko Bortolotti eindigde als tweede, Kelvin Snoeks viel uit.

Pineiro kwam goed weg bij de start en ging met een mooie actie buitenom voorbij aan polesitter Bortolotti. De Italiaan had daarna de nodige moeite om Jack Clarke achter zich te houden, maar slaagde daarin. Het leidende trio liep vlot weg bij de rest van het veld. Uiteindelijk was Pineiro 1,4 seconden eerder aan de finish dan Bortolotti. Clarke completeerde een sterk weekend met de derde plaats.

Mihai Marinescu kwam op een achterstand van ruim twintig seconden als vierde binnen, gevolgd door Tobias Hegewald. In een ietwat saaie race bleef Armaan Ebrahim titelkandidaat Christopher Zanella nog voor en pakte de zesde plaats.
