Belgische Formule 2-coureur geschorst na behalen 12 strafpunten

In de Formule 1 worden coureurs geschorst bij 12 strafpunten op hun superlicentie. Niet alleen in de Formule 1 gelden deze regels, ook in de juniorencategorieën is dit het geval. In de Formule 1 is nog nooit een coureur geschorst sinds de invoering van deze regels, in de Formule 2 wel.

Afgelopen weekend pakte Van Amersfoort Racing-coureur Amaury Cordeel namelijk zijn twaalfde strafpunt van het seizoen. Dat betekent dat de Belg de aankomende Formule 2-ronde op Silverstone moet missen. Voorafgaand het weekend in Bakoe stond Cordeel op 11 strafpunten maar hij deed niet rustig aan. Hij ontving zijn cruciale strafpunten nadat de wedstrijdleiding hem als schuldige aanwees van een crash met Olli Caldwell op zondag.

Cordeel is hiermee de twijfelachtige opvolger van de Indiase brokkenpiloot Mahaveer Raghunathan. Hij werd in 2019 voor een weekend geschorst nadat hij twaalf strafpunten bij elkaar had gereden. In de Formule 1 is nog nooit een coureur geschorst door deze regels. De laatste coureur met een schorsing was Romain Grosjean in 2012. Toen was de 12 strafpunten-regel echter nog niet van kracht. Het is nog niet duidelijk wie Cordeel gaat vervangen op Silverstone.

Cordeel is dat hij toch niet zo goed was lees ik hierboven. en die geef ik het cordeel boven de twijfel. ik ga er dan verder ook niet over cordelen.

  Volgens mij wel. Je had er een paar jaar terug ook zo een die stond er het weekend erop gewoon weer bij om weer strafpunten te ontvangen. Moeilijke naam had die overigens.
  
  Begreep sowieso niet wat VAR met hem moest. Genoeg coureurs die meer in hun mars hebben, waaronder ook paydrivers.

Zo moeten dat aantal strafpunten omlaag brengen en dan die onzin strafpunten afschaffen. Helemaal als het in vrije trainingen en zo zijn.

Tsja, meneer Cordeel heeft een aantal bouwbedrijven dat al die pakhuizen bouwde die de laatste tijd het landschap vervuilen. Daarvan kan hij het geld betalen om zijn zoons Ghislain en Amaury te laten racen. Ghislain was ook niet erg goed maar hield wel de auto's op de baan.
