Formule 2 en Formule 3 gaan in 2023 pionieren met duurzame brandstoffen

Het is algemeen bekend dat de Formule 1 hun steentje wil bijdragen in de overstap naar klimaatneutrale brandstoffen. Vanaf 2026 gaat de koningsklasse van de autosport met een duurzame brandstof rijden. Om ervoor te zorgen dat alles voor die tijd tiptop in orde is gaat men al eerder overstappen naar groene brandstoffen in de opleidingsklassen.

Gisteren maakte men namelijk bekend dat de Formule 2 en de Formule 3 al vanaf volgend seizoen gaan rijden met duurzame brandstoffen. De hoogste opstapklassen van de autosport gaan vanaf 2023 rijden met een mix van 55 procent duurzame brandstoffen. De Formule 1 stapt in 2026 over naar deze brandstoffen en de Formule 2 en Formule 3 maken die stap in 2027. Aankomend seizoen gaan ze dus al pioneren.
