Roman Staněk maakt interne promotie bij team Trident: van F3 naar F2

De Tsjechische coureur Roman Staněk zal zich gaan opmaken voor een opstap binnen de gelederen van de F1-juniorseries. Terwijl de achttienjarige racer in 2022 nog deel uitmaakte van team Trident’s F3-renstal, zal hij dit jaar meevechten in het Formule 2-kampioenschap. Met zijn promotie zal de naam van Staněk toegevoegd worden aan een lange lijst met F2-rookies voor 2023.

In 2022 maakte Roman Staněk een goede zet binnen de professionele autosportwereld. Nadat de achttienjarige coureur in de naseizoenstest van het F3-seizoen van 2021 voor team Trident had getest, wist de Tsjechische racer dusdanig indruk te maken dat hij door het eerdergenoemde team werd beloond met een fulltime F3-zitje voor 2022. In dat seizoen wist hij op de vijfde finishplaats te eindigen; zijn vertoonde kunsten bleken voldoende om hem voor 2023 naar het F2-kamp van team Trident te katapulteren.

Met zijn debuutseizoen in de Formule 2 heeft ook Staněk een cruciale stap dichterbij de Formule 1-wereld weten te zetten. Het 2023-seizoen van de Formule 2 kent een flink aantal debutanten; ongetwijfeld zal het aankomende F2-seizoen door een flink aantal nieuwsgierige kijkers bekeken worden – potentieel ook vanuit de F1-wereld.
