Carlin Racing voortaan door het leven als Rodin Carlin na meerderheidsovername

Het zeer succesvolle team van Carlin Racing, dat vooral bekend is een vaste waarde in de opstapklasses van de Formule 1 te zijn, heeft de naam van Rodin Cars na een meerderheidsovername geadopteerd.

Het team van Carlin, dat teams in onder andere de Britse Formule 4 en FIA Formule 3- en 2 heeft deelnemen, heeft sinds het beginjaar van 1999 inmiddels al dertig kampioenschappen gewonnen. Ook heeft het Britse team een groot aandeel in de ondersteuning van meer dan dertig coureurs die uiteindelijk de Formule 1 gehaald hebben. Nu het bijzondere bedrijf Rodin Cars een meerderheidsbelang in Carlin heeft gehaald, zal het legendarische team voortaan door het leven gaan als Rodin Carlin.

Rodin Cars, een Nieuw-Zeelands bedrijf dat de rechten van de Lotus T125-openwielauto heeft overgenomen om die vervolgens met haar technische professionaliteit verder te perfectioneren tot een circuitwaardige auto die beschikbaar is om gekocht te worden, sponsorde in 2022 al Carlin Formule 2- en Formule 4 racewinnaars Liam Lawson en Louis Sharp. Met de overname van Rodin Cars, zal Rodin Carlin vanaf 2023 ook de F1-Academy en Spaanse Formule 4-raceklasses aan haar deelnamelijst toe voegen.

Rodin Cars-voorzitter David Dicker laat weten 'extreem' veel uit te kijken naar een gezamenlijke toekomst in de motorsport met Carlin. Zowel Dicker als Carlin-oprichter Trevor Carlin zijn enthousiast een 'gedeelde ambitie' te hebben over hun toekomstige avonturen in de racewereld.

Begrijp niet zo goed waarom ze dit doen. Zou t niet beter zijn om eerst meer bruikbare producten op de markt te brengen ipv 2 voertuigen waar weinig vraag naar is...

Als ik een prutsversie wil van een F1 auto, koop ik toch gewoon een oude dallara op?
