Axcil Jefferies uit Zimbabwe treedt toe tot de Formule 2

Axcil Jefferies debuteert dit weekend in de Formule 2. De 18-jarige Zimbabwaan had de auto in de voorbereidingstests al aan de tand gevoeld en treedt voor de races op de Nürburgring toe tot het Formule 2-gilde. De afgelopen jaren was hij actief in de Formule BMW.

Jefferies: "Ik heb hier hard voor moeten knokken, maar het voelt geweldig dat het zich uitbetaalt en ik kan racen. Ik sta voor een inhaalslag na het missen van de eerste races en ik ben nog nooit op dit circuit geweest, maar we hebben twee sessies om de baan te leren kennen en ik heb vertrouwen dat ik voort kan borduren op mijn snelheid uit de tests en in de top tien kan finishen."
