Yelmer Buurman voorlopig derde in Macau

Yelmer Buurman heeft zich tijdens de eerste kwalificatiesessie voor de beroemde Formule 3-race in Macau van zijn beste kant laten zien. De jonge Nederlander reed de derde tijd, achter voorlopige poleman en Brits Formule 3-kampioen Marko Asmer en Formule 3 Euroseries-kampioen Romain Grosjean.

Carlo van Dam (foto) en Renger van der Zande deden niet mee voor de toptijden. Van Dam reed de voorlopig achttiende tijd, op de voet gevolgd door Van der Zande. Het duo doet het nog wel beter als Bruno Senna. De Braziliaan die de overwinning van oom Ayrton Senna uit 1983 wil evenaren crashte op het nauwe stratencircuit en reed slechts de twintigste tijd.
