Vietoris snelste in verregende training

Christian Vietoris is het weekeinde van de RTL GP Masters of Formula 3 in het Belgische Zolder goed begonnen. De jonge Duitser heeft de snelste tijd neergezet tijdens de eerste natte training.

Het weer goeide flink roet in het eten, waardoor de sessie werd ingekort tot 30 minuten. De snelste tijden waren lange tijd voor Brendon Hartley en Nico Hulkenberg, maar Hartley kan het uiteindelijk niet waarmaken. Hij rijdt uiteindelijk de zesde tijd.

Het is dit weekeinde in Zolder nog even afwachten hoe het de Britse teams vergaat. De coureurs die uitkomen in het Britse kampioenschap zijn namelijk niet bekend met de Kumho-banden waar de rest meer ervaring mee heeft. De Engelse teams zullen hopen op slechte weersomstandigheden om zo de verschillen te beperken.

De Nederlanders kunnen zich top op heden nog niet voorin laten zien. Renger van der Zande eindigt als 29e op meer dan drie seconden van Vietoris, terwijl Henkie Waldschmidt als 34e eindigt.
