Carlo van Dam sluit perfect seizoen af met twee zeges

Carlo van Dam heeft een geweldig seizoen in het Japanse Formule 3-kampioenschap op passende wijze afgesloten. Twee pole positions, twee overwinningen en één snelste raceronde waren de oogst van de Nederlander op het circuit van Sugo. Daarmee komt zijn totaal op achttien podiumplekken in evenveel races, een buitengewoon mooie score voor de TOMs Toyota-coureur.

Van Dam blikt op zijn site terug op de laatste race van het seizoen. Prachtig natuurlijk, dat we het kampioenschap hier hebben afgesloten met twee overwinningen. Op zondag reden we in de stromende regen en dat maakte de tweede overwinning extra leuk. Eerlijk gezegd lag de auto niet optimaal op de natte baan, maar ik had een prima start en wist iedereen de rest van de race achter me te houden.

Alles bij elkaar opgeteld is dit een mooi seizoen geweest. Toyota Team TOMs en ik hebben het hele jaar hard gewerkt en het maximale eruit gehaald, de helft van de races en de titel gewonnen en na elke race op het podium gestaan. Nu staat eerst een Formule Nippon-test op het programma en daarna gaan we ons uiteraard voorbereiden op de Grand Prix van Macau.
