Bianchi wint, Hulkenberg kampioen

Jules Bianchi heeft zaterdagmiddag de eerste race van de Formule 3 Euroserie op zijn naam geschreven. De Fransman werd geen moment bedreigd aangezien Sam Bird zijn directe achtervolger was. Nico Hulkenberg laat zijn motor afslaan bij de start en finisht als 24e, maar pakt de titel doordat directe concurrent Eduardo Mortara ook geen punten scoort.

Bij de start is het kampioenschapsleider Nico Hulkenberg met de grootste pech. Hij laat zijn motor afslaan en verliest daarbij een complete ronde. Het geluk is daardoor voor Sam Bird, die een plek wint. Bird wint nog een plek als Stefano Coletti spint in de derde ronde. Vanaf dat moment gaat Bird voor een zekere podiumplek.

Christian Vietoris lijkt lange tijd op weg naar de vijfde plek, als hij zes ronden voor de finish moet opgeven. Jean-Karl Vernay erft de vijfde plek. De Nederlanders finishen ditmaal in de achterhoede. Renger van der Zande wordt negentiende, Henkie Waldschmidt 21e.
