Van der Zande: "Circuit van Macau is zeer bijzonder"

Renger van der Zande is goed begonnen aan het prestigieuze raceweekend op het circuit van Macau. Coureurs uit verschillende Formule 3-series komen daar samen om voor de zege te strijden. Van der Zande hield zich op de eerste dag prima staande met een vijfde tijd in de eerste kwalificatie. De Prema Powerteam-coureur roemt het speciale stratencircuit van Macau.

Van der Zande: Dit is echt genieten. Het circuit van Macau is zo bijzonder. Het gaat hier ontzettend hard, zelfs al in je outlap, en je scheert steeds rakelings langs de muren. In Europa zou zon circuit waarschijnlijk niet meer kunnen, maar hier nog wel. Het is echt geweldig.

De twee sessies verliepen erg goed, ondanks het feit dat we voornamelijk op oude banden hebben gereden. We hebben dus voor de beslissende kwalificatie van morgen nog een paar verse setjes liggen. De baan wordt steeds sneller, dus morgen zal het er echt om gaan. Voorlopig ziet het er in ieder geval zeer goed uit. Dit is mijn laatste Formule 3-race en ik heb het prima naar mijn zin. Ik geniet van ieder moment.
