Vernay pakt eerste overwinning in Euroseries

Na Coletti's overwinning van gisteren was het vanmorgen opnieuw een coureur die zijn eerste overwinning in de Euroseries pakte: ditmaal Jean-Karl Vernay.

Vernay maakt een superstart vanaf de derde plek naar de leiding in de eerste bocht, voor Vietoris en Jules Bianchi. Er ontstaat een treintje van acht auto's, maar uiteindelijk slagen alleen Vietoris en Vernay erin te ontsnappen. Dat komt door Bianchi, die moeite heeft het tempo te volgen op de derde plek. Mede daardoor krijgt hij een tikje van Maki, maar deze blijft zonder gevolgen.

Pole-man Atte Mustonen rijdt lang rond als derde na een slechte start, maar valt uiteindelijk verder terug. Hij finisht uiteindelijk als zevende. Er is opnieuw wisselend succes voor de Nederlanders: Henkie Waldschmidt komt ditmaal aan de finish als negende, Carlo van Dam moet na zeven ronden al opgeven.
