Ed Jones stapt over naar Indy Lights met Carlin

Edward Jones rijdt in 2015 in het Indy Lights-kampioenschap voor het team van Carlin. Het Britse team debuteert komend seizoen in Amerika en dat was voor Jones het ideale moment om de overstap te maken naar de Verenigde Staten.

De coureur uit de Verenigde Arabische Emiraten reed afgelopen seizoen namens Carlin in het Europees Formule 3-kampioenschap en wist tweemaal op het podium te eindigen. Hij miste een aantal races door een rugblessure.

Jones spreekt tegenover Autosport van een unieke kans. "Ik ben erg opgewonden en dankbaar voor de mogelijkheid om in de Indy Lights te racen. Ik heb altijd gedroomd van een stap naar Amerika en nu Carlin koos om deel te nemen aan het kampioenschap, leek het de perfecte stap voor mij."

"Er valt genoeg te leren voor het team en mezelf, voornamelijk op de ovals, maar ik ben gemotiveerder dan ooit om dit tot een succes te maken. Het doel is uiteraard het IndyCar-kampioenschap."
