Leclerc voltreffer bij Van Amersfoort Racing

Antonio Giovinazzi gaat na het eerste weekend in het Europees Formule 3-kampioenschap aan de leiding, maar het waren anderen die de show stalen op Silverstone. Charles Leclerc bijvoorbeeld, de nieuwe coureur bij Van Amersfoort Racing.

Leclerc was in het voorseizoen al sterk en lijkt een regelrechte voltreffer. De jonge Monegask eindigde in race 2 als tweede en won race 3. Daardoor bezet hij de tweede plek in de eerste tussenstand. Een andere rookie, George Russell van Carlin, won race 2.

De eerste race viel ten prooi aan ervaren rot Felix Rosenqvist. De Zweed had zich ook voor de overige twee wedstrijden naar de eerste startplek getraind, maar raakte die poles kwijt omdat zijn auto niet door de technische keuring kwam.
