Drie verschillende winnaars op de Norisring

Charles Leclerc heeft zijn voorsprong in het Europees kampioenschap Formule 3 uitgebouwd op de Norisring. De jonge Monegask triomfeerde in race 1 in de regen en voegde daar in race 2 en race 3 nog een derde en een vierde plek aan toe. Maar hij stal niet de show.

Die eer was weggelegd voor Maximilian Günther. De 17-jarige Duitser wist op fabelachtige wijze zijn eerste overwinning in het Europees Formule 3-kampioenschap te pakken. Met één inhaalactie wist hij drie collega's te verschalken op weg naar de zege.

Antonio Giovinazzi beëindigde in race 3 een reeks van acht wedstrijden zonder winst. Jake Dennis kukelde uit de top van het klassement. De Brit had op Spa nog mooie dingen laten zien, met twee overwinningen, maar op de Norisring bleef hij puntloos.
