David Beckmann tekent bij Mucke Motorsport en krijgt steun van Red Bull

David Beckmann was een van de sterren in de Formule 4 het afgelopen seizoen. De 15-jarige Duitser kende een sterk debuut in de opstapklasse, nadat hij in 2014 de titel pakte in het Duitse kartkampioenschap. Beckmann zal komend seizoen voor Mucke Motorsport uitkomen in de Formule 3. Als klap op de vuurpijl krijgt de jonge coureur ook steun van Red Bull.

Beckmann kwam vorig jaar namens Mucke Motorsport uit in de Italiaanse - en Duitse Formule 4. Omdat hij te jong was miste hij de eerste race. Beckmann wist desalniettemin overwinningen te pakken in beide kampioenschappen en werd de beste rookie in het Duitse kampioenschap. Beckmann is vanzelfsprekend erg blij met zijn contract: "Ik ben erg blij dat ik de volgende stap in mijn loopbaan ga maken. Daarnaast voelt het als een privilege om steun te krijgen van Red Bull. Ik wil iedereen bedanken die dit mogelijk heeft gemaakt."

Beckmann zal niet alle races rijden in 2016. Vanwege zijn jonge leeftijd zal hij de eerste twee raceweekenden missen. De regels om te mogen racen in de Formule 3 zijn aangescherpt naar aanleiding van een chaotisch weekend op het circuit van Monza waar de jonge rijders elkaar om grove wijze in de haren vlogen op het circuit.
