Inschrijftermijn F3 twee weken langer open

De organisatie van het Europees kampioenschap Formule 3 heeft de deadline voor inschrijving twee weken opgeschoven. Die deadline lag op 15 februari middernacht, maar de internationale autosportbond FIA geeft de teams twee weken extra om een programma op poten te zetten.

Tot nu toe bestaat het veld voor 2016 uit 24 deelnemers, verdeeld over zeven teams. Dat is een fors uitgedund veld ten opzichte van vorig jaar. Stefano Domenicali van de eenzitter-commissie bij de FIA: "Het was onlogisch dat de deadline twee weken vroeger was dan in 2015, terwijl het seizoen min of meer in dezelfde periode aanvangt. Een aantal teams heeft bij ons aangegeven dat ze meer tijd nodig hebben om overeenkomsten te sluiten en die tijd geven we ze graag."
