Nelson Piquet in Pau in actie voor Carlin

Nelson Piquet junior keert komend weekend terug in de Formule 3. De Braziliaan, regerend Formule E-kampioen, komt in de straten van Pau in actie voor het team van Carlin. Het is de bedoeling dat hij met zijn ervaring de jonge coureurs van de Britse renstal op sleeptouw neemt.

Carlin beschikt verder over Ryan Tveter, Alessio Lorandi en Peter Li. Het team kent Piquet van vorig jaar, toen de Braziliaan in Toronto voor Max Chilton inviel in het Indy Lights-kampioenschap en zich prompt op pole position kwalificeerde.

"Ik heb er zin in om weer eens een Formule 3-auto te besturen", begint Piquet. "Ik bewaar mooie herinneringen aan die klasse. De samenwerking met Carlin verliep vorig jaar in Toronto uitstekend en ik help het team dit weekend in Pau met alle plezier."
