Felix da Costa scoort eerste Euroseries-overwinning in tweede race

Felix da Costa heeft de tweede race op de Nürburgring op zijn naam geschreven. Hiermee heeft de Portugees zijn eerste zege in de Euroseries gescoord. Da Costa bleef Marco Wittmann acht tienden voor op de finish, terwijl Alexander Sims als derde over de streep kwam.

Da Costa kwam beter weg dan polesitter Jim Pla, maar werd meteen tot halt geroepen door een Safety Car-fase. Teamgenoten Mika Maki en Christopher Zanella, die dit weekend terugkeren in de Euroseries, kwamen met elkaar in aanraking bij de start en namen ook Laurens Vanthoor mee in hun val, die voor reparaties naar de pits moest.

Da Costa behield de leiding bij de herstart en achter hem werd Jim Pla verschalkt door Marco Wittmann. Enkele bochten later ging ook Alexander Sims voorbij aan Pla, maar kon het tempo van Wittmann niet volgen. De Brit eindigde als derde, achter Wittmann en Da Costa die hiermee zijn eerste overwinning in de Euroseries pakte.

Pla eindigde als vierde in de race die hij vanaf de pole position startte, gevolgd door Roberto Merhi en kampioenschapsleider Edoardo Mortara. Valtteri Bottas kwam zeer slecht weg bij de start en eindigde uiteindelijk net buiten de punten als zevende.
