Mick Schumacher hoopt op stap naar Formule 3 volgend jaar

Mick Schumacher, de zoon van zevenvoudig wereldkampioen Michael Schumacher, hoopt volgend seizoen zijn debuut te kunnen maken in de Formule 3. De jonge Duitser werd dit jaar tweede in het Duitse Formule 4-kampioenschap en doet nog mee om de titel in het Italiaanse kampioenschap Formule 4.

Mick Schumacher over zijn toekomstplannen: "Ik hoop dat de volgende stap de Formule 3 is. Als ik de mogelijkheid krijg, richt ik me volledig op de Formule 3. Het was mooi geweest wanneer ik dit jaar kampioen was geworden in de Duitse Formule 4, maar het is wel mooi dat we het kampioenschap bij de constructeurs hebben gepakt."

Schumacher laat verder weten nog te moeten werken aan zijn kwalificaties, in de races zit het wel goed. Dat bewees de 17-jarige Duitser vorige week in Hockenheim door vanaf een 35e plek naar een achtste plek te rijden en van de 22e plek naar de zesde plek te rijden.
