Stroll en Eriksson pakken pole position op Hockenheim

Twee weken geleden werd Lance Stroll de nieuwe kampioen in het Formule 3-kampioenschap. De Canadees lijkt met zijn titel een stoeltje te hebben afgedwongen in de Formule 1 bij het team van Williams. Ondanks dat de titel al binnen is, is Stroll niet op zijn lauweren gaan rusten. Stroll pakte pole voor de eerste en tweede race, Joel Eriksson start de derde race van pole position.

De pole in race een was aanvankelijk voor de 16-jarige David Beckmann, maar Beckmann verloor zijn pole position na de kwalificatie. Stroll kende in de tweede kwalificatie wat geluk, de Canadees had aanvankelijk namelijk last van veel verkeer. Joel Eriksson leek aanvankelijk niet competitief, maar het lukte de Zweed toch om er in de derde kwalificatie een scherpe tijd uit te persen.

Hoewel de strijd in het kampioenschap al beslist is zullen de heren er ongetwijfeld weer een spektakel van maken op de Hockenheimring. De eerste twee races worden vanmorgen en vanmiddag verreden, de derde en laatste race in het kampioenschap van dit jaar wordt morgenvroeg verreden. Na de seizoensfinale is er nog de beroemde Formule 3-race op het circuit van Macau. De strijd tussen de beste Formule 3-coureurs van de wereld vindt plaats in het weekend van 20 november.
