Joel Eriksson verlengt verblijf bij Motopark

Joel Eriksson verdedigt ook komend seizoen de eer van Team Motopark in het Europees Formule 3-kampioenschap. De 18-jarige Zweed stond vorig jaar tien keer op het podium en won in Spa-Francorchamps een race. Met zijn optredens dwong hij een plek in het opleidingsprogramma van BMW af.

Voor 2017 is de titel in het Europees kampioenschap Formule 3 het doel voor Eriksson. "Het doet me deugd om ook dit jaar in deze klasse te racen. Ik heb vorig seizoen veel geleerd, ik heb genoten van het format en ik heb mijn doel om de titel voor beste rookie in de wacht te slepen verwezenlijkt. Het was een goed jaar en op basis van de resultaten en de snelheid uit met name de tweede seizoenshelft heb ik voor 2017 mijn zinnen gezet op het winnen van het kampioenschap."

"Het wordt zwaar met veel sterke concurrenten, maar ik had ook niet verwacht dat het makkelijk zou zijn. Ik race al mijn hele loopbaan in de eenzitters voor Team Motopark. Vorig jaar hebben we onze potentie tentoon gespreid en ik kan niet wachten om samen aan de nieuwe uitdaging te beginnen."
