Felix da Costa domineert vrije training in Hockenheim

Felix da Costa is het raceweekend van de Euroseries in Hockenheim als beste begonnen. De Portugese coureur van Motopark Academy reed een 1:18.780 en was daarmee ruim drie tienden sneller dan kersvers kampioen Edoardo Mortara.

Da Costa, die een sterk tweede seizoenshelft kent, was de enige coureur in het veld die onder de 1:19-grens dook. Mortara, die zijn eerste weekend als kampioen mee mag maken, kwam 0.357 seconden tekort op de tijd van de Portugees en reed de tweede tijd. Valtteri Bottas, die met Marco Wittmann nog altijd strijd om de tweede plaats in het kampioenschap, reed de derde tijd, gevolgd door zijn concurrent.

Debutant Laine reed de vijfde tijd, gevolgd door Daniel Juncadella, Laurens Vanthoor en Carlos Munoz.
