Renger van der Zande heeft een goede indruk achter gelaten tijdens twee testdagen voor bandenfabrikant Kumho op het circuit van Vallelunga. De Nederlander imponeerde de Duitse autosportbond DMSB en Kumho met constante rondetijden en goede feedback.

Het was een zware testsessie, zo laat Van der Zande weten. Dit was even doorpakken. Ik sta te boek als een rijder met een topconditie. Maar nu moest ik echt alle zeilen bijzetten. Meer dan 1000 kilometer achter elkaar, in korte stints , maar ook met vele malen een complete raceafstand, vormden een stevige slijtageslag. Wat ik geweldig vond was de professionele aanpak, de vele varianten in banden, met herkenbaar verschillende karakteristieken en de mogelijkheid om mijn eigen vakkennis als autocoureur te verrijken. Het deed me goed dat ik alom de complimenten kreeg, van de verschillende technici en bondsvertegenwoordigers over de resultaten en analyses die ik leverde. En verder was het gewoon top om te doen.
