Allereerste overwinning voor Ferdinand Habsburg

Ferdinand Habsburg is de verrassende winnaar van de tweede race van het Europees kampioenschap Formule 3 op het circuit van Spa-Francorchamps. Het betrof zijn eerste overwinning in deze klasse. De Oostenrijker is de zesde verschillende winnaar dit seizoen.

Lando Norris vertrok andermaal vanaf pole position, maar dit keer wist hij die startpositie niet te verzilveren. De 17-jarige Brit zag meerdere coureurs passeren op het rechte stuk richting Les Combes. In een poging om de schade te beperken vergaloppeerde hij zich, waarna hij contact maakte met Guan Yu Zhou en met een beschadigde wagen uitviel.

Vervolgens leken Prema-teamgenoten Maximilian Günther en Callum Ilott te gaan strijden om de winst. Het duo kon het hoge tempo uit de beginfase echter niet vasthouden. Habsburg en Joel Eriksson gingen het duo nog voorbij, met Habsburg uiteindelijk als winnaar.
