FIA werkt aan internationaal F3-kampioenschap

De internationale autosportbond FIA wil in 2019 een internationaal Formule 3-kampioenschap in het leven roepen. Op die manier zou de federatie de autosportladder richting de Formule 1 compleet maken. Het meest voor de hand liggende zou zijn om de GP3 om te dopen tot internationaal Formule 3-kampioenschap.

De FIA maakt er nu in elk geval serieus werk van en roept geïnteresseerde partijen op om mee te dingen naar de rol van chassisproducent, de rol van motorleverancier en de positie van promotor. In het ideale scenario bestaat de grid straks uit 24 auto's - acht teams met ieder drie wagens. De kalender bestaat uit negen of tien evenementen, met twee racers per weekend.

De motor moet ongeveer 350 pk produceren. Onder het internationale Formule 3-kampioenschap zouden regionale Formule 3-kampioenschappen moeten ontstaan. Daarin zijn wel verschillende chassis' en motoren mogelijk. Die auto's leveren tussen de 220 en 240 pk.

Gewoon zoals in de MotoGP met Moto 3 Moto 2 en MotoGP rijden elke GP in het voorprogramma van de MotoGP.
Moeten ze ook doen bij de F1 met F3, F2 en F1 en alle GP's rijden en niet 10 GP's per jaar.
