Van Amersfoort Racing schuift Felipe Drugovich door

Felipe Drugovich maakt komend weekend op de Hockenheimring zijn debuut in het Europees kampioenschap Formule 3. De 17-jarige Braziliaan doet dat bij Van Amersfoort Racing, het team waarvoor hij dit seizoen al uitkwam in het Duits Formule 4-kampioenschap. Daarin eindigde hij op negen punten van kampioen Jüri Vips als derde.

Drugovich was wel degene met de meeste overwinningen in de Duitse Formule 4. Frits van Amersfoort: "Felipe heeft zijn vaardigheden dit seizoen alsmaar verbeterd. Hij overwon meerdere tegenslagen en bleef zich in de top van het Duits Formule 4-kampioenschap manifesteren. De logische volgende stap voor hem is de Formule 3 en de mogelijkheid diende zich aan om hem nu al door te schuiven. Het wordt interessant om te zien hoe snel hij zich aanpast aan dit niveau."

Drugovich: "Ik verheug me op mijn eerste kennismaking met het Europees kampioenschap Formule 3. Het wordt een andere ervaring dan ik gewend was, dat staat wel vast. Ik zal tijd nodig hebben om te wennen aan de nieuwe auto en de andere rijstijl. Mijn doel is om mijn snelheid gedurende het weekend steeds te verbeteren. Voor mij gaat het om ervaring opdoen en we zien wel waar het toe leidt."
