Formule 4-kampioen Vips debuteert in Formule 3

Jüri Vips, de Duits Formule 4-kampioen, maakt komend weekend op de Hockenheimring zijn debuut in het Europees kampioenschap Formule 3. De 17-jarige Est stapt in bij het team van Motopark, waar een plekje vrijkwam doordat Petru Florescu om medische redenen verstek moet laten gaan.

Vips heeft niet veel Formule 3-ervaring. In de zomer heeft hij wel een tweedaagse test voor Prema Powerteam afgewerkt, maar dat is het dan ook wel. In Hockenheim komt de Est komend weekend een oude bekende tegen in de Formule 3. Felipe Drugovich was in het Duits Formule 4-kampioenschap een van de rivalen van Vips. Hij racet bij de seizoensfinale van het Europees kampioenschap Formule 3 voor Van Amersfoort Racing.
