Juri Vips toegevoegd aan de line-up van Motopark

Team Motopark heeft de line-up voor het seizoen 2018 in het Europees kampioenschap Formule 3 rond. Na Fabio Scherer, Daniel Ticktum, Marino Sato en Jonathan Aberdein is ook een plekje ingeruimd voor Juri Vips. De 17-jarige Est veroverde vorig jaar de titel in het Duits Formule 4-kampioenschap en verscheen in het slotweekend van vorig jaar al voor Motopark aan de start in de Formule 3.

Vips: "De samenwerking met Team Motopark verliep vanaf het begin meteen soepel. Mijn eerste indrukken sterken me in de mening dat ik de juiste omgeving gevonden heb om me te helpen met de transitie naar de Formule 3, een compleet andere wereld dan de Formule 4. Wat ik in Hockenheim en in de prille voorbereiding op komend seizoen meegemaakt heb, geeft me vertrouwen in een goede start van mijn Formule 3-loopbaan."

Motopark-teambaas Timo Rumpfkeils: "We hebben de progressie van Juri in 2016 en 2017 in de Formule 4 nauwgezet gevolgd en we zijn tot de conclusie gekomen dat hij inderdaad het extreem veelbelovende talent is dat ons voorgespiegeld is. Hij heeft wellicht zelfs alles in zich om het heel ver te schoppen. Na uitvoerig testwerk ben ik er zeker van dat hij maar een korte periode nodig zal hebben om te wennen aan de Formule 3 en succesvol te zijn."
