Vips zet pole om in zege tijdens derde race op Silverstone

Voor de tweede keer dit seizoen heeft Juri Vips een wedstrijd gewonnen in het Europees Formule 3. De Est had Sacha Fenestraz in zijn nek hijgen, maar bleef de Fransman uiteindelijk voor. Jonathan Aberdein mocht als derde mee naar het podium.

In de eerste ronde gebeurde er een hoop. Vips sloeg eerst een aanval van Aberdein en later van Fenestraz af, terwijl Enaam Ahmed met Daniel Ticktum en Mick Schumacher streed om de vierde plaats. Dat duel werd in het voordeel van Ahmed beslist, terwijl Schumacher voorbij kwam aan Ticktum voor positie 5. Tot en met het einde van de race zouden de rijders niet meer van positie wisselen. Vips kon nooit een gat trekken richting Fenestraz, maar de Fransman kon op zijn beurt ook geen aanval inzetten.

Ticktum breidde met zijn zesde plaats wél de leiding in het kampioenschap uit. De Red Bull Junior-coureur heeft nu een voorsprong van 18 punten op Marcus Armstrong, die al vroeg in de race uitviel.
