Geen angst voor verlamming bij Floersch

Gisteren meldden we al dat de eerste operatie van Sophia Floersch, na haar horrorcrash in de Formule 3-race op Macau, goed was verlopen en nu heeft ook haar teambaas Frits van Amersfoort daar verder op gereageerd. En hij heeft goed nieuws.

"Alles werkt en alles is in orde", vertelde Van Amersfoort aan BBC World Service. "Verlamming was onze grootste angst. Daarom moest de operatie vrij snel gedaan worden, omdat er het gevaar was dat het ruggenmerg beschadigd kon zijn. We zijn extreem gelukkig dat ze nu aan het herstellen is en dat alles extreem goed is verlopen. Er is helemaal geen angst meer voor verlamming."

Twee fotografen en één marshall raakten ook gewond tijdens het heftige ongeluk, maar ook zij zijn niet in levensgevaar en lijken er in de toekomst weer bovenop te gaan komen.

    Mooi zo! kunnen we deze ook onder de noemer 'best klappertje' scharen..
    Toch wel wat zaken waaruit lering getrokken kan worden, zoals bijvoorbeeld de positie van die marshalls precies in het verlengde van dat rechte stuk, iedereen heeft ontzettend veel geluk gehad

      Denk dat dit meer dan een "best klappertje" is, lijkt mij wel de klapper van het jaar eigenlijk.

      Ze staan niet in het verlengde, kijk nog maar eens goed. Maar los daarvan, dit was een freak accident met een goede afloop. Ze begint te glijden op de kerbs, kan niet remmen en wordt onhoog gelanceerd als ze op een voorganger klapt. Ik zou niet weten hoe je dit kunt voorkomen.

      @Arie; Ik begrijp niet helemaal hoe je het "glijden op de kerbs" bedoelt, aangezien ze al stuurloos rond gleed ruim voor de kerbs. Zie ook het filmpje wat ik gisteren al postte:

      Maar wat je zegt, dit is een type ongeluk dat vrijwel niet te voorkomen is en in het verleden al vele malen is voorgekomen. Echter de meespelende factoren zoals de "broodjes" aan de binnenkant van de kerbs zullen door de FIA goed onder de loep moeten worden genomen.

      De reden waarom die sleeping policemen daar liggen, zit niet bij FIA maar bij de rijders die de tracklimits niet respecteren.
      FIA zoekt daar een oplossing voor, en misschien is dit niet de beste.

      Verder hoop ik dat het meisje hersteld en opnieuw kan gaan racen, om haar droom waar te maken.

      @Stoffel: dus ze liggen er door de FIA ;-)
      De oorzaak is natuurlijk de reden van het gevolg dat ze er liggen. Maar het is de FIA die deze oplossing aanbiedt. Dus het is wel zeker een zaak voor de FIA om dit te onderzoeken of er geen betere oplossingen beschikbaar zijn.

      Je hebt gelijk natuurlijk, maar misschien moet de oplossing voor dit probleem uiteindelijk van de teams en rijders komen.
      Als die twee de tracklimits respecteren ,kan FIA die gele ondingen alsnog weghalen hé.
      Het probleem is dus tweeledig.

      @beri en stoffelman, Het grote geluk is geweest dat de sausage kerbs er lagen. Als ze zijdelings in Tsuboi was gecrasht of direct in de vangrail, was de ellende niet te overzien geweest.

      Op zich ben ik het met jullie eens, normaal gesproken helpen die dingen niet, maar zoals jullie al stellen, bizar ongeluk en bizar veel geluk voor alle betrokkenen. Het meest bizarre dat toen de auto van Floersch wilde gaan rollen en ze in die Tower klapte met de open zijde ze daar geen ellende heeft opgelopen....volgens mij is ze precies in de open ruimte gekomen met haar helm waar normaal de fotografen met de lens doorheen komen. En ook dat die Tower er überhaupt stond. Immers een betonnen muur had wederom een andere uitkomst gegeven.

      Waar ik wel heel erg benieuwd naar ben is de reden waarom ze op Daruvala is geklapt. Het leek mij enorm ver voor het rempunt. Als die gele vlag reden echt de oorzaak zou zijn, is dat zeer kwalijk.
