Campos Racing pakt door met de komst van Lorenzo Colombo

Het team van Campos Racing heeft de smaak te pakken. Gisteren kondigde de Spaanse renstal aan Amaury Cordeel gecontracteerd te hebben voor het komende Formule 3-seizoen en vandaag is daar al een tweede naam aan toegevoegd. Het gaat om Lorenzo Colombo, een 20-jarige Italiaan afkomstig uit de Formule Renault Eurocup.

Daarin won hij vorig jaar drie races op weg naar een vijfde plaats in de eindstand. Colombo: "Ik ben verguld om mijn opwachting te maken op de Formule 3-grid namens het team van Campos Racing. Ik kan niet wachten om met mijn werkzaamheden te beginnen om zoveel mogelijk te leren voordat het seizoen van start gaat. Ik ben er klaar voor om de beste versie van mij als coureur te tonen."

Colombo stond al langer op de radar van Campos Racing, legt Adrian Campos junior uit. "We trachten al jaren om tot een samenwerking te komen, maar door verschillende oorzaken kwam het er steeds niet van. Lorenzo is altijd nauw verbonden met ons team geweest en mijn vader heeft hem sinds onze eerste ontmoeting vier jaar geleden op de voet gevolgd. Ik ben er zeker van dat hij komend seizoen gaat laten zien waarom mijn vader in hem geloofde en hem beschouwde als een zeer getalenteerde coureur met veel potentie."
