Sprintrace: Collet geeft Nederlandse MP Motorsport thuiszege op Zandvoort

Succes voor het Nederlandse MP Motorsport bij de F3-sprintrace op Zandvoort. Caio Collet zegevierde en pakte daarmee de tweede winst op rij in Nederland. In 2021 won huidig F2-coureur Victor Martins voor de formatie uit Westmaas.

Alpine-junior Collet, herkenbaar aan de blauwe livery, startte op de eerste rij en nam polesitter Juan Manuel Correa te grazen in ronde vijf. Zij aan zij gingen beide jonkies door de Tarzanbocht richting de kombocht van Hugenholtz. Binnendoor ging uiteindelijk Collet voorbij de Amerikaan en gaf daarna de leiding niet meer uit handen.

Correa probeerde in de slotfase dichterbij te komen, maar vormde geen bedreiging in de 21 ronden tellende wedstrijd en de ART GrandPrix-coureur werd afgevlagd als tweede vlak voor Zak O'Sullivan die de gehele race in de DRS zat van de Amerikaan.

De start van de sprintrace begon spectaculair met een driftende Roman Stanek door de Tarzanbocht na een touché. Zane Maloney moest zijn Trident-teamgenoot ontwijken via het grind.

Pas op het eind kwam de wedstrijd op gang met meerdere gevechten om posities. Veel verandering in de rangschikking leverde het niet op. Dat onderstreepte dat inhalen op Zandvoort erg lastig was.

Debutant Sebastian Montoya, zoon van oud F1-coureur Juan Pablo Montoya, maakte indruk door als achtste te finishen en gelijk drie puntjes achter zijn naam te schrijven.

In de stand blijft het zeer spannend. Isack Hadjar werd zesde voor titelconcurrent Victor Martins. Hadjar heeft 111 punten en staat maar drie punten los van Martins. Oliver Bearman en Arthur Leclerc blijven steken op 105 en 101 punten. Roman Stanek complementeert de top vijf en heeft 97 punten. Collet stijgt door de winst en punt voor snelste ronde naar P8 in de stand op 37 punten achterstand op de nummer één.

Zondagochtend vroeg staat de hoofdrace op het programma met Maloney op pole. Die begint om 08.45 uur Nederlandse tijd.

Ik wil hier even een lans breken voor viaplay, ja, ik weet dat velen van jullie de Britten streamen of andere exoten maar dit hele seizoen en nu vooral de Zandvoort gp, heb ik nog nooit zo genoten. Goede diepgang, oranje bril is niet zo heel nadrukkelijk aanwezig. Natuurlijk ben ik opgegroeid met Mol en ik zou hem zo terug willen maar ja, als ik daar Plooij bij krijg, pas ik.
En als ik terug kijk op vorig jaar, zo mooi als het nu is, had Ziggo het nooit kunnen doen. Natuurlijk, vorig jaar hadden ze niet zoveel races en klasses dan nu. Die Ziggo club had dit nooit zo voor elkaar gekregen.
Enige minpunt vind ik Albers, toffe gast hoor maar als die begint te praten, krullen mijn grammaticale tenen meteen.
Oh ja, ik stream al vanaf gister middag en ik krijg het oude rtl4 gevoel, clio cup en andere race klassen om de boel op te bouwen..

  Op Albers na helemaal met je eens! Ik volg zijn podcast voor de Telegraaf al heel lang dus ben wel gewend aan zijn manier van praten. Het wordt ook steeds beter heb ik het idee. Jammer dat ze dit niet kunnen doortrekken naar de andere circuits.

  Kom op ziggo had het niet beter kunnen doen…., ik weet niet waar jij de laatste jaren naar hebt zitten kijken. Hun verslag van alle klassen was zeer goed met goed commentaar. Zij hadden tenminste ook dtm formule e indycar, etc, etc. Alle autosport op 1 zender, ideaal, nu moet je weer meerdere abonnementen hebben als autosport fan…

  Remedy81@ juist de F1 vond ik het zwakste punt van Ziggo. Indycar en FE waren qua commentaar scherp.
  
  Olav Mol en de hele F1 café crew kregen het naar mijn mening wat in hun bol mede door het verstappen succes. Interviews waren kut, olav zag de helft niet, jack schreeuwt door elke boordradio heen zonder inhoudelijk iets te roepen. Vervolgens bij de na beschouwing moet de een over de ander heen schreeuwen en kan een gast als Ho Ping Tung zijn inhoudelijk goede analyse niet eens afmaken of een van de robjes knalde er overheen en wist het beter.
  
  Ik zeg niet dat Viaplay perfect is, maar het is een stap in de goede richting qua opzet. Mijn verbeterpuntjes... een 3de commentator die wel passie durft uit te drukken + minder storing in de streamingdienst.
