Debutant Alex Lynn heeft tot verbazing van velen de pole position voor de Macau Grand Prix voor zich opgeëist. De Brit snelde in de tweede kwalificatie naar een 2:13.122 en dat was iedereen te machtig. Antonio Felix da Costa start naast Lynn van de eerste startrij.

Daniel Juncadella en Felix Rosenqvist nestelden zich op P3 en P4. Hannes van Asseldonk verbeterde zich ten opzichte van gisteren en legde beslag op de elfde plek. Dennis van de Laar bivakkeerde in de achterhoede en noteerde de 26ste tijd.
