FIA buigt zich op 8 maart over Masters op Zandvoort

De World Motor Sport Council van de internationale autosportbond FIA komt op 8 maart bijeen en zal dan ondere andere kijken naar de kwestie Zandvoort. Het circuit in de Nederlandse duinen is jaarlijks gastheer van de Masters of Formula 3, maar de datum voor dat evenement in 2013 is nog onbekend.

Autosport meldt dat Zandvoort hoopt de Masters op 7 juli in te plannen, ter ondersteuning van de Auto GP en het Dutch GT-kampioenschap. Daar heeft de organisatie wel toestemming voor nodig, omdat de reglementen momenteel verbieden dat deelnemers testen of racen op een circuit waar een evenement voor het Europees Formule 3-kampioenschap op gehouden wordt. Zandvoort is in het weekend van 28 en 29 september gastheer voor een ronde in het Europees Formule 3-kampioenschap, maar hoopt op een uitzondering voor de Masters of Formula 3.
