Rosenqvist zit Marciello op de hielen na hattrick

Felix Rosenqvist heeft de achterstand op Raffaele Marciello in het Europees Formule 3-kampioenschap nagenoeg gedicht met een perfect weekend in Oostenrijk. De jonge Zweed won op de Red Bull Ring alle drie de races en verzamelde zodoende 75 punten.

Marciello kon daar met een derde en een vijfde plek weinig tegen inbrengen. De Italiaan verloor vijftig punten van zijn voorsprong. Het verschil bedraagt nog 27,5 punten, maar Rosenqvist heeft het Europees Formule 3-kampioenschap in elk geval weer spannend gemaakt.

Lucas Wolf van het bescheiden URD Rennsport was in race 2 een opmerkelijke verschijning op het podium. Het was pas de derde keer dit seizoen dat hij in de punten finishte. Geen succes voor Dennis van de Laar in Spielberg, hij keerde met lege handen terug uit Oostenrijk.
