Van Dam eist eerste pole van het seizoen op!

De eerste pole position van het nieuwe Duitse Formule 3-seizoen is opgeeist door Carlo van Dam. De 21-jarige coureur van het team van Frits van Amersfoort reed op de Hockenheimring een 1:36.220 en daarmee was hij net iets sneller dan de Belg Frederic Vervisch. Op de derde plek start morgen bij de eerste race van het seizoen Christian Vietoris.

Op de vierde plek vinden we weer een Nederlander. Recardo Bruins, teamgenoot van Van Dam, reed de vierde tijd in de kwalificatie. Tevredenheid is dus op zijn plaats bij Van Amersfoort Racing.

Van Dam: Ik ben natuurlijk zeer gelukkig, ook al ging niet alles perfect. Maar dat zeggen coureurs altijd, we willen altijd sneller gaan. We moeten ondanks deze pole nog wel wat werk verrichten, zowel aan de auto als aan mijn rijstijl. De voorbereiding op het seizoen was erg hectisch. Maar als ik morgen een goede start meemaak kan ik gelijk de eerste race winnen. Ik ben trots op het resultaat van vandaag en blij met het puntje dat deze voorste startpositie met zich meebrengt.
