Marciello neemt in voorlaatste weekend voorschot op titel

Raffaele Marciello kan de titel in het Europees Formule 3-kampioenschap bijna niet meer ontgaan. Met nog één weekend te gaan bedraagt zijn voorsprong op Felix Rosenqvist 45,5 punten. Het moet raar lopen wil de Italiaan dat op de Hockenheimring verspelen.

Marciello sloeg op het circuit van Vallelunga een belangrijke slag. Zelf won hij twee maal terwijl Rosenqvist worstelde om punten te sprokkelen. De Zweed verzamelde in drie races in totaal veertien puntjes. Marciello profiteerde optimaal met vijftig gescoorde punten.

Alex Lynn, derde in de tussenstand, schreef de tweede race van het weekend op Vallelunga op zijn naam. Dennis van der Laar oogstte ook weer wat puntjes, vier om precies te zijn. De Nederlander bezet de twintigste plaats in het kampioenschap met zestien punten.
