Leimer vervangt Alguersuari bij Virgin Racing

Fabio Leimer maakt komend weekend in Londen zijn debuut in de Formule E. Hij is door Virgin Racing opgeroepen als vervanger voor Jaime Alguersuari, die met gezondheidsproblemen kampt. De auto's zijn niet helemaal nieuw voor Leimer. De Zwitser heeft voor het seizoen getest voor Amlin Aguri.

Leimer: "Als racer hou ik van uitdagingen en voor Virgin Racing meedoen aan de komende ePrix is een ware test. Het zal een geweldige en unieke ervaring zijn om door de straten van Londen te scheuren. Wat het nog specialer maakt is dat ik voor een nieuw team in hun thuisrace uitkom. Ik kijk ernaar uit om aan de zijde van Sam Bird te rijden en om een bijdrage te leveren aan een succesvolle seizoensfinale voor het team."

I know, maar het is zo afgezaagd allemaal. Het zou toch zo fijn zijn mocht hij iets zeggen in de zin van: 'Ik ben nog liever afwasser bij Manor dan te moeten rijden bij een fucking FE-team, maar dit was de beste van alle slechte opties.'
