Maximilian Günther neemt deel aan rookietest

Formule 3-coureur Maximilian Günther maakt zijn opwachting bij de Formule E-rookietest in het Marrokaanse Marrakech. Günther draait al twee jaar mee in de top van het Europees Formule 3-kampioenschap en eindigde dit seizoen als derde in het kampioenschap.

Na afloop van het Formule 3-seizoen heeft Günther ook deelgenomen aan testsessies in de Formule 2 en Japanse Super Formula. Günther heeft ook connecties met Mercedes in de DTM, maar lijkt zijn loopbaan te willen vervolgen in een Formule-klasse. Bovendien lijkt Mercedes in de DTM te opteren voor Pascal Wehrlein en Juncadella.

Günther zal in Marrakech rijden in de bolide van e.DAMS, een van de topteams in de klasse voor elektrisch aangedreven auto's. James Rossiter, Colton Herta en Bruno Spengler nemen ook deel aan de test en ook Formule 2-coureur Nyck de Vries mag een bolide besturen namens Audi. De test in Marrakech vindt op 14 januari 2018 plaats.
