De Vries geplaagd door pech bij Formule E-test

Nyck de Vries heeft weinig geluk gekend tijdens zijn kennismaking met de Formule E. De Nederlander kroop voor de rookie-test in Marrakesj in een auto van Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler. Het was de wagen van kampioen Lucas di Grassi, maar die had een dag eerder tijdens de ePrix ook al kuren vertoond.

De problemen waren een dag later nog niet verholpen. Door technische mankementen kon De Vries niet veel ronden rijden. Laat in de middag slaagde Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler er toch nog in om de Nederlander de baan op te sturen. De Vries moest genoegen nemen met de tiende tijd.

Hoe anders verging het Nico Müller in de andere bolide van het team. De Zwitser vestigde met een 1:19.651 een nieuw baanrecord en was sneller dan alle reguliere Formule E-coureurs. "Ik heb het ontzettend naar mijn zin gehad. Mijn eerste dag in een Formule E-auto was zeer succesvol."

Voor De Vries zit er niets anders op dan zich verder voor te bereiden op zijn tweede seizoen in de Formule 2. De 22-jarige Nederlander racet dit jaar voor topteam Prema. Die renstal leverde in 2016 en 2017 de kampioen af en met minder dan een gooi naar de titel kan De Vries geen genoegen nemen.

    Gewoon gelijk stopen met deze klasse Nickie.... die afschuwelijke batterij auto's moeten alleen bij de Blokker verkocht worden radiografies bestuurbaar.
