McLaren trekt Sam Bird aan voor nieuw seizoen

Terwijl de Formule 1-wereld zich voorbereidt op de start van de tweede seizoenshelft, draait het in de Formule E vooral om de transfers van meerdere coureurs. Ook het team van McLaren heeft de line-up voor het aanstaande seizoen aangepast, ze hebben namelijk een vervanger voor René Rast gevonden.

In het seizoen 2022-23 stond McLaren voor het eerst aan de start van het Formule E-kampioenschap. Coureurs Jake Hughes en René Rast reden voor het team. Voor het aanstaande seizoen heeft Rast de renstal verlaten, hij wordt vervangen door een zeer ervaren man. McLaren heeft namelijk bekend gemaakt dat Sam Bird de nieuwe teamgenoot is van Hughes. Bird komt over van het team van Jaguar en is één van de meest succesvolle Formule E-coureurs.
